Quick Pictures

I decided while I was in the mood to blog I would just take these pictures to share. The left is the top part of the media cabinet. Look at all the CDs and DVDs! And there's still room for more!

On the right is the bottom part. See there are books and records and even other stuff and there is room for more! What a wonderful piece of furniture Susan gave me!
I don't know how well youc an see the picture of the mantle and the pictures that are on there. Maybe if you click on it. Anyway the picture on the left is a drawing of the farmhouse in Maine where I grew up. Then in the center is a picture of my Mom and twin brother Dennis. And on the right is a print of the original painting we had commissioned when Ally was 4. It's called "Two Sisters" and shows a princesss looking into a mirror looking at her fairy sister. This was a copy we had given my parents and after my first divorce my Mom gave it to me so I could have it since I didn't get to keep the original. At least having a copy is good.
Attic pictures may or may not be coming soon. I am going to finish my coffee and start cleaning out the DVR. There is a basketball playoff game at noon which gives me an hour to get rid of something.
I love my house!

Other Pictures

On the left is what I call the media cabinet. Susan gave this to me. I will have to open the doors and take pictures to show how much this really holds. All the CDs and DVDs are in the top. Some of the most frequently accessed ones are in a rack by the tv or in the tv cart. The DVDs are all alphabetized now but the CDs aren't a priority. The picture on the right is from yesterday. This is the corner on the left as you enter the Yarn Room. Underneath the mirror is a 2 drawer cabinet with patterns in it and on top of that is my little one box stereo which has a turntable, radio, CD and tape player. The three pictures are family pictures. The penguin tile was painted for me by my Uncle Bernie.

And finally, some pictures from the Yarn Room! On the left you can see my knitting chair and on the left my computer. Underneath the window just to the left of the knitting chair is some of my yarn storage in cabinets and a few other things like my pink ceramic Christmas Tree. I haven't figured out where to put it so it stays there for now.
For now the Yarn Room is pretty darn organized. It's a big room. To the right of the computer is a 3 drawer cabinet holding all my computer related stuff. And to the right of that is what used to be my little kitchen table but is now my Yarn Room table. One chair is with the table and the other went to the desk in the front entry room. I have pattern books on top of the table, needles, a calendar and underneath I am storing two bins with patterns and my big, big pink tote/knapsack that has binders with frequently used patterns. Altogether this is really well organized. I started putting up a few pictures but I need help to do most of it.
I am going to take some pictures of the attic with everything moved into the sections where they should be. I need to toss stuff and get rid of the bags but that will have to wait. It took me quite a while Friday afternoon just to get things where I wanted them. And after working on the Yarn Room yesterday I am done for a while.
I will, however, take a picture of the mantle in the livingroom above the stove because I finally got that decorated the way I wanted. Can't wait to hang up pictures in my bedroom and the livingroom (and my wonderful clock!) but those need to wait until someone can help me.
But I did finally unload the pictures and I am sharing them here. I am going to put together a CD with all the pictures, good and bad, to take to my brother so he can keep that and we'll show them to my mother. I thought about printing pictures but I think if I want to do that I will wait until I am there and have the CD. At least for now everything is on the computer.
The house is such a wonderful place for me. I am comfortable, relaxed, happy. Susan was right - I DO deserve this. Goes to prove - always listen to your sister!

Empty Camera, Full Blog

I finally unloaded the pictures from the camera and can now do some posting. I'll only post the better stuff because there are so many pictures I took during unloaded and before setting things up. I figure nobody really needs to see all of those anyway and some already have since they were here during all that.

So on the left is a picture of the seating in the livingroom. On the right is the tile room after Susan and her family kindly finished setting it up for me on Friday night March 26th, moving day. The entire room turned out better than I had planned because Lisa thought it would look better that way and she was right!

On the left is a picture of how I set up the bed on the day I moved in. On the right is my quilt rack with the fleece blanket Susan made me which got me addicted to making them. The bookcase holds only a portion of what I own (lots more in the cabinet in the diningroom).
More post-set-up pictures in another post. Don't want to make blogger mad!
