Finally, Some Ramblings

I haven't just rambled on for quite some time. I've talked about things that are too serious for a blog or talked about nothing much. I think this blog is supposed to be a bit of both and lately I have not done a good job of keeping up.

First to something serious. Yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of when my daughter Shannon died. It was also the day my dear friend Tracy retired from her job. She and I worked together in the probate division of the court. To top it off I was sick. It's hard to find a balance when you're sick and crying all day.

So I am glad to report that this morning I am neither sick nor crying. I have no real plans for the day. Tomorrow is my friend Jeannie's birthday (HAPPY BIRTHAY MATOTT!!). She is the 2nd of the group of 4 of us to have her birthday this year. Sherry (YEAH TORSE!!) was the first at the end of May. Bev will be next and I am last. By the time my birthday comes we will be getting together and we will acknowledge the old PSC group getting yet another year older.

Tomorrow is also a made-up holiday called "Friendship Day" (or something similar). I have no one to celebrate it with even though I have friends. Perhaps I will call Amy and see if she'd like to go to brunch and/or a movie. But I also know that Sunday is the day her son comes to visit so she probably already has plans.

On a side note I started going through all the pictures in my "Crafty 2009" folder on my computer. I was pretty darn sure most everything I've made this year has been washcloths. As it turns out, I was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't forgotten but wasn't counting the capelets I made for Mom and myself, all the scarves and scarflets. Even some other little things. But...

I still think I need to make another crafty blog just for all the washcloths I make. Only problem is I can't come up with a cute enough name to make me happy. If anyone has any ideas, please email me.

Today I will finish a crafting project, watch a movie I received from Netflix and I'm having the second half of my prime rib from dinner last night as my lunch. It was just too much. The food was really good and I just *had* to eat all the onion rings that came with it. I HAD TO!

It's hard to believe it's August already. I need to seriously get started on anything I want to make for Christmas. I was going to make something for my friend Vicky's birthday but she isn't going to get that until Christmas unless I get ambitious. I just don't want to work with wool at the moment. So she'll get something else.

I do not know where I will be for Christmas this year. I was hoping to go to Ally's since I haven't seen them since last Christmas but they are supposed to be moving and she's busy and I need to make plans before I go on my October vacation. I guess I will wait to hear.

And speaking of October vacations, I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for the Boston Celtics fall schedule to be posted ANYWHERE so I can make my travel plans. STILL NO SCHEDULE!!! Yes, I am a HUGE Celtics fan. And I have decided that before I die I want to see a game in person, in Boston and want it to be this year. But no schedule means I can't plan around a home game. So I am going to wait until the middle of the month and by then if there's no schedule I may just have to call the darn place that books the special seats and see if they can help me. I want good seats. Expensive seats. This will be the present I wanted to do when I turned 50. I've saved and saved and saved for almost 3 years for this. I WILL FIND THE SCHEDULE!!!

OK, so I have rambled on about lots of things. I need to go post to my crafty blog now with the pictures of all the cute washcloths I have been making of late. I am currently making one for a swap I hope to send out Monday. I've made a few things lately using washcloth patterns and cotton which are not washcloths - they were purposefully made larger to go on things as "toppers". Anyway, time to post all that.

Until next time... while I may not be rambling on the outside, you can bet I'm rambling on the inside!
