Sunday Thoughts
I recently received an email asking me to describe the sender in one word and then to pass it along back to the sender and a few others. It said you'd get an idea of what people thought of you.
The word I chose for my dear friend Jolene was "exuberant". Here's what Thesaurus.com says the synonyms are (and I already knew this which is why I chose the word!):
animated, ardent, bouncy, brash, buoyant, cheerful, chipper, eager, ebullient, effervescent, elated, energetic, excited, exhilarated, frolicsome, gay, high-spirited, lively, passionate, sparkling, spirited, sprightly, vigorous, vivacious, zappy*, zestful, zingy*, zippy*
I thought all of those described her pretty well. But being the word freak that I am, I wanted a unique word for a truly unique and wonderful woman.
Some of the words I received back were: Grammy, Penguin, Giving, Warmhearted.
I actually thought those were good responses!
Anyway, I thought that was an interesting concept. It got me to thinking about how I would describe people I know in one word that would convey all. Tough. "Friend" means so much more than the word implies. And "Sister", expecially for me since I have no biological sister. But as we all know, being biologically related to someone doesn't ensure that it's going to be a good relationship. And sometimes those we aren't related to, we're closer to.
Hope Sunday is good to you. It's my quiet day. Well, sometimes. :)
