A Comment of my Own

I say to my family and friends (and anyone else who visits here!) that I appreciate your comments. Unfortunately I have had to change my comment restrictions so that now you must be logged in to post a comment. I'm just trying to keep out a ton of anonymous postings which happened early this morning. Again, sorry if it's inconvenient.

Saturday Somethings

Good morning world! I sit here with a cup of coffee, breakfast cooking and am happy, happy. I had a long conversation with Ally last night, finished a project I was anxious to finish and today I will see my wonderful friends Julie and Linda. It is my good friend Amy's birthday today (happy birthday Amy!) and my mom is throwing a birthday party today for our cousin Martha (mom's first cousin) who will be 90 on Friday. I wish I had a ton of money and vacation time. I would have liked to attend to see all the family members. Instead here I sit typing in this blog, preparing for a day when I get to see people I want to see and do things I want to do. Life is good!

Surprise!

Aren't these absolutely BEAUTIFUL?!?! My wonderful daughter, Allyson, sent them to me at work today for Mother's Day! She knew I was out of town. They are the most beautiful surprise! I haven't had flowers sent to me in a gazillion eons and to get them in PINK which is my current favorite color was, well, just perfect. And what brought tears to my eyes was reading the lovely card. She even addressed me as Grammy Penguin. Hard to believe she's going to be a mother herself at the end of this year! I am going to plan a trip to be there and if fates are willing and I can afford it, I'd like to stay longer than a day or two. I will have to fly, find a motel and considering I'd like to do that for Christmas (which is also their anniversary), well I am budgeting now.

Here's a closer shot of the flowers. There are roses, tulips and carnations. I am really blessed to have such a caring, loving, thoughtful daughter. Thank you Ally. I love you with all my heart.

Home Again, Home Again

It was a long trip but educational, fun and I spent time with great friends! Now if I could just walk without limping. :) Got up yesterday morning and my entire left leg was aching as if I'd pulled every muscle in it. Maybe I have! My calf is jumping, the front muscles between my knee and leg joint are screaming and I am most definitely *not* having a good time. Ah well, I look at it this way - I have to stay off my leg tonight so I will do minimal watering of the grass and lots of crocheting on the baby blanket for my first grandchild. Add a glass of chocolate milk and I'm gonna be one happy penguin!
