The Economy
I don't like to post about stuff like this but geez...I got my monthly statement for my retirement investment account that my employer makes contributions to on my behalf. No it isn't a 401k. Anyway...When I went in to consult with them when I went back to the lawfirm a little over 4 years ago, I told them to just put it in the most secure investment even if it didn't earn a lot.In 2 months my most secure and safest investment has lost $3k.Good thing I don't ever plan on retiring, huh.
A Day With Longtime Friends
I am so excited! What a wonderful afternoon this has been! I sent out an email to a lot of my contacts giving them an update on moving info. I got two great responses.First, my friend Rae emailed me. She has known me since I was 4 years old and she was 5. She's living in the south right now. I will be answering her email. She just became a grammy this year which is really exciting!Second, my dear friend Jeannie (see previous vacation postings) read this blog and called me! How great! She's known me since I was 17. She wanted to catch up and see if I was OK. Bless you Jeannie... nobody makes me happy just by saying "hi" more than you do! It's a long distance hug I needed dearly.I am truly fortunate to have such long-term wonderful friends. I am hoping to live through the move because I have lots of good things to look forward to and many blessings. Wish me luck. Help me if you can. This is daunting. Too much stuff with no place to put it yet. But I have friends, good friends, long-term friends. I know that God will see me through all this because He's provided me with the emotional support I need.I love days that end with hearing from a friend. It reminds me of my blessings. Thanks to all of you, wherever you are. Call me. Email me. I will try to do the same. But for right now, I'm tired and it's time to eat, put my feet up, watch a movie and knit. I can face tomorrow when it gets here. Really. :)
