What has the old bird been doing? Not a lot. Knitting. Purchased a treadmill and am now walking on it in the morning, building endurance of which I currently have none. But 4 minutes this morning were much easier to do than yesterday so I'll go up to 5 for a week and take it from there. I also will do an extra 5 in the afternoon today, Saturday and Sunday. Doing it at night keeps me awake so that is out. Just keep at it.
It's also getting hotter which I do not enjoy. I typically spend about 6 hours on a Saturday or Sunday watering the lawn and that much on Friday and about 4 hours on Tuesday. I am hoping that will be enough. It's easier on those days because I tend to be home.
Today and tomorrow appear to be pleasantly busy. I am getting my hair done this afternoon and having dinner with my best friend. Tomorrow I am having brunch with someone I haven't seen for a couple of months and then dinner with David and Dad and watching "Lost" (that is the usual plan ... will have to verify that today).
I got a Mother's Day card with present from Matt which I love. Now to find the appropriate sized frame. I talked to Ally last night for a while and she is looking forward to going part time so that maybe she can come up here and we can see each other more often. I would really like that. I am missing my family very much. October is a long time to go before seeing Mom and Den. December is a long time to go before seeing Ally, Matt (and Sean and Joey!).
Next Thursday I am going to the annual Legal Secretaries conference with my good friends Julie, Kathy, Sara and my "sister" Susan. Thursday night we are having dinner off-site somewhere (I'm sure the hotel has a nice restaurant but we need to get out and go somewhere to be ourselves where they won't have to see us again... hehehe plus shopping maybe somewhere, too). Thursday isn't a busy day for conference. Friday I can maybe knit because there's nothing until the probate class in the afternoon. All Saturday I am busy and Sunday we will come home after brunch. Yet another adventure Susan has talked me into. :) Gotta love the gal!
I need to post something to my Crafty Rantings so maybe over the weekend. I will take some pictures of the washcloths I have recently made. I need to get back to work on Mom's shawl (so unmotivated at this point) and the last hat for Socks for Soldiers that I will be doing for a while. I am going to have to take a break from that because I need to tend to some personal things.
Life moves on. Hopefully I am still moving with it. :)
