Dysfuctionality

Geez. Read the titles of the email that shows up in your SPAM or JUNK folder. The amount I get every day is distressing. When I go on vacation it will take me a half hour just to sort through and empty. Why? Well every once in a while something ends up in there which is NOT spam or junk. I have done quite a few email swaps on swap-bot which are things like email letters or answering questions (favorite movies etc.). So if I'm currently in one of those I have to check. If I'm not then it's easy - hit the "empty" button. But I decided I was going to check anyway. 58 items in the spam folder since I logged off 10 hours ago! Here's what I found out this morning:

I don't have to suffer from ED! I can get all the free Viagra I need to keep my hot Russian woman happy in bed. AND I can get it NOW!

OK, let's see. I'm 52. I haven't had a date in over 5 years. If I ever had one it would be with a MALE and I wouldn't want to be slipping him some Viagra. At my age it's not about the sex - it's about companionship and someone to eat dinner with and go for a drive. Obviously the spam writers have no clue. They just hit "send".

And don't you just love the one where the English is so horrible you KNOW it's spam? Here's the title of one I saw in my spam folder yesterday - "SEND YOU INVOICE".

Now I don't open any of these but I *do* read the titles. In my Eudora which I use for my email it shows the top part of the message in another window without you opening it. I like that I can see some of it but it isn't opened by the program and therefore any virus stays away. I automatically hit the "junk" option on things like that which make it from the server to my Eudora. The spam filter from my provider is good and catches just about everything. The rest I can teach my Eudora to recognize as junk although 2 or 3 pieces still get through every day.

Someone must be making money generating these junk and spam emails. I'd ask, "Have they no pride or morals?" but I know the answer to that question. And, sadly, lots of people see this as the quick and easy buck.

The world is definitely a dysfunctional place these days. Wonder if they make a planet-sized blue pill for that?
