The Last Two Days

A lot of things have happened in the last two days.

Friday the nice man Alma recommended came by and looked at the "jungle". I told him what I needed done. He came back later when it had cooled off and not only took care of the problem with the trees, overgrown stuff and killing the stumps that the previous landscaper had left (he knew they needed to be killed and didn't and considering what I paid him I am very angry about that) but he used the weed eater and cleaned up my whole front yard, the side of the house by the kitchen and hauled it all away! All for a very reasonable price! I told him that the next time I need my trees trimmed or anything else I will call him.

Yesterday morning Alma came over and sprayed all the weeds and places that needed to die and be cleaned out with Roundup. She says in a couple of weeks I can just rake it all up and then next year there will be less to kill. Then Sara and Kevin and Kevin's daughter came over and mowed the little patch out back. I told her that next time there would be more because the gardener wouldn't have been here then. She also offered to pull the weeds in the flowerbed in the back yard. I said that would be fine. This time I didn't want Kevin's daughter touching anywhere near where Alma had been with the toxic Roundup.

Then I went to a birthday party. My dear friend Susan was putting it on in celebration of her mother's 80th birthday party. Ruth is like another mom so I was happy to go. I tried to help out some but there were so many family members there already helping that I ended up mostly just sitting and talking with Ruth's cousin Barbara (who is probably about the same age). Barbara lives in Monterey.

Anyway I took a picture of Ruth. I made her smile. hehe
