A Quick Christmas Post
Matt decided he wanted to hide. That picture with his mom was the morning of his birthday. He hid behind her robe and after Ally said that I was HER mother, gave me a hug and a kiss, Matt decided I was OK. By the end of the visit Matt kept saying "Like Grammy" and when I asked him if I could come visit again he said "Yes, like Grammy" so I am hoping to be able to go again in the spring. The picture on the right he is wearing the SpongeBob Christmas jammies I bought him for his birthday. I believe this was early Christmas morning. He was in the middle of his "I WON!" pose which is him throwing up his hands, laughing and saying, "I WON!" I have yet to figure out what it was he won unless he's talking about having won great parents, much love, cuteness, niceness and politeness. He is a very well behaved little boy with good manners. Right, mom? hehe
Another picture or two...
Matt got a microphone and loved it. The funniest thing he did was march around singing "Jingle Bells" very loudly into the microphone. Then he came up to me, dropped it on the floor, looked at it, looked up at me and said, "I can't sing" and walked off. It cracked me up. What a darling!
Being able to be there for Matt's birthday, especially first thing in the morning, and Christmas is something I look forward to all year. It makes my heart so happy! I was in desperate need of a family fix. I wish I could be more a part of his life than just packages and phone calls. But if I can go 2 or 3 times a year then perhaps he will remember me from visit to visit and I can finally be greeted with a smile, a kiss and a "It's Grammy!". Now what that wouldn't do to lighten an old lady's heart!
